Our team is Whaat?!
Red Hot!  How ya spell it now?

It’s wild to imagine but it's time for our 30-year high school reunion! Thirty years have flown by since 1995 and a lot has happened. Milestones, families, changes in the world and ourselves, a little bit of wisdom (we hope) and most of us are luckily still here. This is worth celebrating and catching up on, and we’re inviting YOU to join the fun!

Life is busy—families, work, vacations, and everything in between—but this is your chance to take a break and reconnect with old friends and classmates, laugh about the good old days, and make some new memories together. Aaron Schwartz has taken the lead to plan an awesome evening that’s easy, fun, and perfect for everyone who can attend.

Mark it on your calendars and please share with anybody who may not be on Facebook or may not know about it. For our 20th HS reunion, 10 years ago, we reserved the Clarendon Grill (last minute) from 7-10PM and coincidentally a 90’s cover band played at 10PM to the public and a bunch of people stayed for the band and it ended up being a really fun and great reunion.

So, for THIS reunion, we’ll do something similar to keep it easy & fun.

We’ve reserved the upstairs level of Starr Hill Brewery, a great new spot in Tysons Corner. You’ll love the relaxed vibe, good food, and plenty of space to catch up with friends. Plus, at 9:00 PM, a live '90s cover band will take the stage, bringing all the hits from our high school days. Before that, we’ll have a curated '90s Spotify playlist to set the mood (shoutout to Shea Taft—now Reemsnyder—for the assist!).

No Hassle, Just Fun

To keep things simple, everyone can purchase their own food and drinks at the bar—no tickets, no stress. Just come as you are, ready to relax and have a great time.

What to Wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable! It’s a laid-back summer evening at a brewery, so feel free to keep it casual—or dress up if you feel like it.

Spread the word to anyone who might not be on Facebook or in the loop.

Can’t wait to see you there!

7PM until whenever you want

Starr Hill Brewery Tysons is located within the Capital One Center in Tysons, Virginia with access to garage parking and adjacent to the Silver Line Metro station. NOTE: It’s important to not confuse Starr Hill Brewery (ground level next to the Wegman’s) with their Starr Hill “Biergarten” which is on the rooftop of the same building.

There’s plenty of garage parking in that building so just park in the garage and come up to ground level to find the Brewery.

IDEAL HOTEL CHOICES

There are a number of people coming in from out of town for this who have asked about the best hotel choice.

A really great option is The Watermark Hotel. It’s pretty much in the same building as the venue of the reunion and it’s a beautiful / brand new hotel and the prices are pretty affordable, likely since Tyson’s Corner isn’t exactly a hot spot travel destination.

Depending on which site you book the room from, prices are likely going to be somewhere around $130-160/per night. There’s a Wegman’s (awesome grocery store) and other restaurants right there and of course the Starr Hill rooftop is awesome too if you arrive on Friday and want something fun to do (it’s a family friendly / nice environment with live entertainment, bars, food trucks, putt putt golf, etc).

Another good option is The Archer Hotel which is across the street and slightly further away but I think due to the price / location and how nice it is, The Watermark Hotel is going to be the ideal choice.

Donations are welcome but NOT required

Having the reunion at Starr Hill Brewery keeps thing easy. While planning everything out, I’ve taken on some fun extras — birthday cupcakes, decorations, name tags, etc. It’s all good because I want this event to be fun. While I'm happy to cover the extras myself, a few classmates have suggested that others might like the chance to contribute to the reunion expenses as well so that it’s more of a group effort.

So, if you’d like to help out, you’re more than welcome to donate and of course it’s appreciated! There’s absolutely no obligation though and the most important thing is that you come hang and enjoy the evening with us. Any contributions will go toward making the event fun, and if we exceed costs, profits will be donated to Jason Tirado’s charity, The Ability Experience, which supports the disability community with awesome and inclusive programs.

Whether you donate or just show up ready to have a great time, your presence is what truly matters. Thanks for helping us make this reunion one to remember! 😊

It’s Been A While

Let’s be real—30 years is a long time, and while it’s going to be amazing to reconnect, it’s totally normal if some names or faces don’t come to mind right away. We’ve all changed a little (or a lot!), and that’s part of the fun of catching up after so many years.

To make things easy and comfortable, we’ll have clip-on name tags ready for everyone. No awkward moments, no stress—just good vibes and a chance to refresh our memories as we laugh about the old days.

If you don’t remember someone, or they don’t remember you, don’t sweat it! It’ll all come back eventually—or at least it will when you dig out your yearbook later. The most important thing is that we’re here together, celebrating 30 years of shared history. 😊

For some nostalgia, here’s a 90’s Spotify Playlist that we are putting together to play before the band starts. Feel free to let me know what other songs would be fun to have that we are missing!

FAQ’s

  • I mean, kinda. You are almost 50 but listen, it happens to the best of us. The good thing is, at the reunion you will be surrounded by good people who are the same age as you and still think that “It Takes Two” by Rob Bass & DJ Easy Rock is an awesome song and remember when doing “The Running Man” was cool before TikTok was even a thing. So, don’t worry - you’ll be in good company.

  • Who knows, but if you have teenagers, you’ve probably heard them use slang like “bussin” or “low key”. At the reunion, we can try to figure out what these words mean and remember that we used to say things like, “Bomb” and “Phat”.

  • Literally anything you want to wear is totally fine. It will be June and a casual brewery environment so no need to get all dressed up unless you want to.

  • Absolutely, spouses and significant others are more than welcome! If you'd like to bring a friend instead, that's great too.

As for kids, we’d prefer to keep the reunion an adults-only event to make things simpler and more enjoyable for everyone. That said, we understand that life happens, and if finding childcare is a challenge, feel free to bring them along. There are no hard rules here—what matters most is that you can join us and have a great time!

  • Yes, absolutely! While this is primarily a Class of ’95 reunion, we know how much fun it is to reconnect with old friends from other years. Some folks from the Classes of ’94 and ’96 have already expressed interest, so if you have high school friends from other classes who’d like to join, they’re more than welcome. We’ll even have name tags where they can include their graduating class. The more familiar faces, the better!

  • Nada! There is no cost to attend the reunion. We’ll have a bar and food available at the venue and each person can just pay for whatever they order. This keeps things pretty easy from a planning perspective.

  • If you do, Aaron Schwartz will buy you a drink. Two drinks if you’re also wearing a flannel or have hair sprayed bangs.

  • It’s all good—don’t stress! It’s been 30 years, and we’ve all changed a bit. Forgetting names or faces is completely normal at a HS reunion, and everyone will be in the same boat. To make things easier, we’ll have name tags to help jog memories and keep things light. The reunion is all about reconnecting, so no pressure—just come and enjoy the fun! 😊

  • Yes! The infamous Class of ‘95 Mr. Woodson (Dustin Ranney) will be there and the reunion happens to fall on his birthday!

A few days prior, Brian Watson and George & Ericka Barrows also have birthdays so we will all do something nice together to celebrate their birthdays.

  • Thanks for asking! While most of the planning has been pretty straightforward, there are still a few ways you can pitch in if you'd like. First, if you have any fun ideas or suggestions for the reunion, we’d love to hear them! Also, not everyone is on Facebook, so helping spread the word to classmates who might not have seen this would be a huge help.

Additionally, we want to honor Jason Tirado, Brandon Strong, Paul Loh, David Klop, and anyone else we’ve lost over the years, but we’re still figuring out the ideal way to do that. If you have ideas or want to help out with that, please let us know—it would mean a lot.

Finally, if you'd like to contribute toward reunion expenses like entertainment or decorations (Aaron Schwartz has generously offered to cover the costs), you can donate in the section above.

Thank you so much for your support, and can’t wait to see you at the reunion!
