How it started..
After serving four years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps, Aaron, our founder, spent nearly two decades as a Principal at a large executive search firm in the Washington D.C. area placing CFO’s and other executives into companies. But in 2006—the same year that YouTube launched—his journey into video production began with a simple vacation video. During a trip to Aruba with his girlfriend, Aaron captured their adventures and uploaded the video to that brand new website called YouTube where you can post your own videos. A few months later, Marriott discovered it and offered the couple a free, all-expenses-paid return trip to the resort. Marriott even issued a press release crediting the video with helping the brand understand the emerging power of social media, specifically the impact of guest-perspective videos. That story made the front page of USA Today, marking the start of a thrilling chapter for Aaron, who continued making videos purely for fun and posting them on his Youtube page.
In 2015, the Travel Channel stumbled upon another one of Aaron’s vacation videos, this time showcasing Havasupai—a hidden oasis with turquoise-blue waterfalls deep within the Grand Canyon. They purchased his footage and created a TV pilot about fun groups of friends exploring “secret swimming holes.” The pilot tested well, and Aaron was invited to film more episodes and locations. Balancing his office job and this exciting new opportunity, Aaron took a sabbatical to film the show. Four successful seasons later, having traveled all over the world and experienced video production as an actual job, Aaron decided to leave office life behind and embark on a brand new adventure.
In 2018, Schwartzy, LLC was born. Since then, Aaron has filled two passports, collaborated with major brands and celebrities, won an Emmy Award, developed numerous TV series, and helped countless businesses grow through video. And the best part? We’re just getting started.
The adventure continues…
