Studio Sessions For Commercials
I’ve worked on a few commercials that I thought I’d share since it’s kind of interesting. I have a buddy who lives in the area who is an amazing producer and his entire basement is tricked out as a bad ass recording studio. No joke, it’s amazing! The guy is a total pro and he can play every instrument so he does EVERYTHING on his tracks. He has a day job but at nights and on weekends he works on movie soundtracks, commercials, etc, etc to make some extra money. He’s working to eventually be a full time producer and I’m 100% sure he’ll get there because he works his ass off and keeps getting busier and busier with more projects.
So, GEICO hired him 3 years in a row to write commercials for them to play at their annual conference. All of the actors in the video are actual GEICO employees but they’re not the ones really doing the vocals. Since there are so many different people in each video, he needed multiple singers to come into his studio and sing the vocals that he wrote. He asked me to be a part of it and since I’m obsessed with being in studios…I obviously said yes. Warren Buffett (one of the richest guys on the planet) owns most of GEICO so even he makes an appearance in all of their videos to sing/dance and it’s a trip.
I didn’t write any of these tunes but you might recognize my vocals here and there throughout. Check em out!
